Exeter manager Alex Inglethorpe has earned Uefa's A coaching licence after passing his tests at Lilleshall.

Inglethorpe spent two weeks at the National Sports Centre and was one of only 15 to gain the qualification out of the 42 people who took the tests.

Coaches, who included the likes of Tony Adams, were examined out on the training field and tested on theory.

The only higher award is the Uefa Pro Licence, which is required for a coach to manage in the Premiership.

Exeter City are increasing their efforts to sign a striker to replace Sean Devine ahead of the new season.

Devine left the Grecians to play for the NZ Knights in New Zealand.

City's director of football Steve Perryman said: "We have lost goals with Sean's departure and goals aren't easy to come by.

"I am confident we will score goals from all positions next season, but we still need someone who is going to dip in with a few up front."

Exeter new boy Billy Jones wants to put a year of disappointment behind him after being released by Kidderminster.

The 21-year-old defender left after only joining from Orient in January.

He said: "I'm over the moon to have signed for Exeter. It's a chance for me to settle down somewhere and get playing decent football again.

"I've played 70-odd games in my career and I want to keep playing and get a regular spot of my own. I had that briefly at Orient and want it again."
